St. Gabriel offers pastoral counselling services to help students balance their academic and personal well-being. St. Gabriel Counselling Services provide information, prevention, intervention and referral for psychological, educational and emotional problems and concerns.
Ms Yenny Mangoendaan, S.Pd., M.Psi is a counselling psychologist based in St. Gabriel. She has extensive experience advising students from different backgrounds in local educational institutions. She integrates principles from various schools of psychology to form a multifaceted approach to counselling students. She has counselled students with eating disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders, with good results for these students. She also provides counselling psychology modules and family therapy to local students. As an educator with a focus on motivating students, she believes in helping students learn by minimizing their personal problems and helping them manage their daily lives effectively. , we believe in maximizing your chances of doing well on the exam.
Students may make an appointment to meet Ms Yenny Mangoendaan (in person, by phone or email) for a private counselling session and/or be identified by Student Services and Support and Academic and may be referred to a psychologist. Students can be assisted to find solutions on the following issues:
The St. Gabriel Counselling Service also provides learning venues through various seminars and trainings to guide students in their career choices and options to pursue academic programs at St. Gabriel and its partner schools and universities.

Student Services and Support and the Academics work closely to counsel students with poor attendance rate. Every month Warning Letters are generated and sent to students who do not meet the minimum attendance requirements. The Student Services and Support and the Academics will meet them one-to-one for counselling and to identify the symptoms of stress or abnormalities in the students. When a student’s low attendance is due to difficulty coping with academics, academics are called upon for help. Academics monitor them. If the issue is not resolved or the student is not feeling well, the matter will be escalated to the school counsellor.
St. Gabriel offers free and confidential psychological counselling services. A qualified and experienced psychologist guides student toward solutions to pressing concerns and personal difficulties. In some cases, school psychologists may refer students to professional counselling services provided by government agencies, professional agencies, or registered non-governmental organizations.
